About Kauwuane

Lighting, composition, digital retouching and customer satisfaction are elements of Kauwuane Burton’s work that have led to his reputation as a top photographer in Dallas, Texas. In six years, Burton has built a business based on client referrals. His clientele includes several magazine publications, record labels and modeling agencies. In February, Burton published his first book, The Culture of Hair, which contains over 100 pages of stunning images showcasing the work of top hairstylists, fashion stylists, make-up artists and models in Dallas.
As a child, Burton’s artistic ability was manifested through drawing and painting. Like most photographers, Burton received a camera for Christmas in 2001 and began taking pictures of family and friends as a hobby. Eventually, requests for shoots began to fill his evenings and weekends. In 2006, Burton left a corporate job to pursue photography full time. “I did not feel like there was room for me to grow in corporate America. Now I look forward to getting my day started because I am able to express myself as a person and an artist.”
Burton’s early photographic interests ranged from sports to landscapes, including photographing the Dallas Mavericks for local newspapers. However, he quickly found his niche in fashion, beauty and editorial photography. In addition, his client base rapidly expanded across the southeastern region of the United States.
Burton currently owns and operates a full service photography studio in Dallas, Texas. He also travels across the United States creating eye-catching images at his clients’ request. He is simultaneously producing images for future publications in his “The Culture of …” series.
